Auparavant, principalement réservé aux enfants et aux femmes enceintes, le PEV s’est maintenant élargi à d’autres cibles le long du cycle de vie, à l’image de la vaccination des filles âgées de 9 à 14 ans contre le Virus du Papillome Humain ainsi que la vaccination contre la Covid-19. Ceci a pour implication directe une nécessité plus accrue des exigences en termes de gestion logistique et programmatique. A cela s’ajoute la forte baisse des couvertures vaccinales avec l’avènement de la pandémie de Covid-19 et une reprise timide de la relance. En effet, selon les estimations de l’OMS/UNICEF, la pandémie de Covid-19 a eu des répercussions sans précédent sur les services de vaccination de routine entrainant une augmentation du nombre d’enfants « zéro dose » et sous-vaccinés. Au Sénégal, la couverture au Penta 3 est passée de 95 % à 83 % en 2023 selon les données de l’EDS. Il s’y ajoute que depuis 2022, le pays fait face à des épidémies de rougeole dans plusieurs districts sanitaires mais aussi à l’identification d’isolats environnementaux de poliovirus avec des campagnes de vaccination en vue pour les deux antigènes. Pour apporter un appui adéquat à cette situation et soutenir le PEV, l’UNICEF recrute un administrateur chargé de la vaccination pour une durée temporaire de 11 mois. 2. Under the general guidance of the supervisor, the Social Policy officer is accountable for providing technical support and assistance in all stages of social policy programming and related advocacy from strategic planning and formulation to delivery of concrete and sustainable results. The focus of this role will be mainly on UNICEF’s Child Friendly Cities Initiative and strengthening the capacity of local government. The job will include regular travel to Sarawak, Sabah and Johor.
Consultancy - Consultant on Inclusive Education in Emergencies Req.#570278
To contribute to building this capacity, UNICEF and the Global Education Cluster are seeking a disability-inclusive education in emergencies consultant to carry out two streams of work: (1) to facilitate and organize knowledge sharing and capacity development events and, (2) to develop tools to improve frontline workers’ access to existing technical resources on disability inclusive education in emergencies. While several guidance and tools exist either at country level or globally, there is a need to design a road map/decision tool to help stakeholders to identify the right resource, or set of resources, at the right time.
Consultancy: Developing a practitioner note on nutrition-sensitive social protection for UNICEF West and Central Africa, WCARO, (Remote/home-based ), 9 months (60 working days)
The West and Central Africa Regional Office is looking for a Consultant to advance the realization of critical linkages between nutrition and social protection in programmes supported by UNICEF, through the production of a practical guidance document and provision of technical support with programme design and delivery to UNICEF Country Office Nutrition and Social Protection teams in West and Central Africa. The assignment will focus on addressing key design and implementation issues for both nutrition-sensitive social protection (NSSP) and humanitarian cash transfers. The consultant will be expected to build on UNICEF’s recently published Position Paper on Leveraging Nutrition and Social Protection Programming, as well as global and sub-Saharan Africa-based good practices for nutrition sensitive “cash +” programmes with a focus on preventing malnutrition through actions targeting the first 1,000 days window of opportunity.
